What is the iTunes Music folder? |
The iTunes Music folder, located inside your Documents folder, contains songs you have imported from audio CDs using iTunes. These encoded songs are the files that iTunes plays.
To change the location of the Music Folder, open iTunes and choose Preferences from the Edit menu (Mac OS 9) or the iTunes menu (Mac OS X). Then click the Advanced tab and choose a new location.
You can play music files from other locations without first moving them into the iTunes Music folder. In the Finder, just drag the song files to the iTunes library window. iTunes will add a reference to the files in their existing location.
